Four are still in the rotation, and in years ending in 1, 3, 6, and 8, the Open Championship takes place in England. You can enjoy great golf on great vacations in every corner of England, particularly in the Northwest where three of the four current Open Championship courses are located. The King's Head is right on the harbour at Deal - spacious twin rooms all ensuite, good grub downstairs, and a nice busy bar with fine choice of beers & wines. This is a perfect location for golfers and tourists alike.

Kent is far more than the home of the breathtaking White Cliffs of Dover, it is home to some of the finest landmarks in the country, including the majestic cathedral in Canterbury and numerous mediaeval Castles, not to mention some exceptional golf courses that any golfing enthusiast will enjoy.

When considering a trip to Kent, Royal St. George's springs to mind. Numerous huge dunes and the many undulations make this a magnificent links to savour. In addition to Royal St George's, there are plenty of other courses to enjoy in Kent. Host to many championships including two Open Championships in 1909 & 1920, Royal Cinque Ports' famous course is a great test and has one of the toughest stretches of finishing holes in the United Kingdom.

The legendary Gene Sarazen won the Open Championship at Prince's in 1932. It is now used as a pre-qualifying course when the Open comes to Royal St. George's, and is an example of some of the finest links land in Britain.

Rye is home to the renowned annual President's Putter competition between Oxford & Cambridge universities, and is one of the most exclusive clubs in the country.

Finally, Littlestone is a classic remote links course, on the edge of Romney Marshes, and with the English Channel as a constant backdrop. This real hidden gem has a reputation for excellent greens.
